Volunteering with CAS

Elizabeth: a CAS volunteer

Volunteers are essential to the operation of the Center for Archaeological Studies at Texas State University. The CAS volunteer program is project based. This format allows CAS to match individual volunteers and their skills to specific needs. It also allows volunteers to develop clearly-defined experience that will be invaluable in their future careers, whether in Archaeology or elsewhere.

Currently, CAS volunteers are working on the following projects:

Spring Lake Lab

Space is often limited in our volunteer projects. Although not required, as part of our commitment to the students of Texas State University, preference will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled. In the event that an applicant is not chosen for a specific project, their application will be kept on file and they will be given priority when new projects or spaces on on-going projects become available.

To apply to our Volunteer Program, please fill out our online application.
