Student Volunteers and Interns

Please Contact CAS for information on volunteer and internship opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are essential to the operation of the Center for Archaeological Studies at Texas State University.

The CAS volunteer program is project based. This format allows CAS to match individual volunteers and their skills to specific needs. It also allows volunteers to develop clearly-defined experience that will be invaluable in their future careers, whether in Archaeology or elsewhere.

Space is often limited on our volunteer projects. Although not required, as part of our commitment to the students of Texas State University, preference will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled. In the event that an applicant is not chosen for a specific project, their application will be kept on file and they will be given priority when new projects or spaces on on-going projects become available.

Internship Opportunities

CAS offers a wide variety of internship opportunities each semester. Preference will be given to students working with a formal (for-credit) internship class, if available within the student's department. In the Department of Anthropology, please contact the internship coordinator for more information about receiving course credit for an Anthropology-related internship.
